Hilton Head Day 1 – No Rest for the Weary (or the Fashion-Challenged)
Well sports fans, no rest for the wicked—or the stylish—as we jet straight from Augusta to the salty air of Hilton Head for a battle over tartan bragging rights. Yes, it’s time for that glorious struggle known as the RBC Heritage, where the winner gets to don the world’s ugliest jacket. Picture this: your granddad’s picnic blanket stitched into a blazer and declared a trophy. Yet, it’s an elevated event, so the boys are showing up—and some, blessedly, are showing out.

Let’s start with a little love for the course itself. Yammy has teed it up at Harbour Town more than once and can confirm—it’s tight, tricky, and totally deserving of more post-Masters respect. It’s the shortest layout on Tour, but make no mistake: it’s all about precision, not power. A refreshing palette cleanser after Augusta’s bomb-and-gouge.
Now, onto the real game—the fits.
🏆 Top Style Honors go to JJ Spaun, who continues to be the breakout fashion darling of spring 2025. Working with Puma, he’s delivering looks that are light, vibrant, and seasonally on point. When the rest of the tour is hitting snooze on spring style, JJ is tossing flower petals like a runway model at a cherry blossom festival. Norse Goddess and I are unanimous: Spaun is styling and profiling.

🔥 Meanwhile, Justin Thomas went full flamethrower on the field with a spicy 61. That’s how you say, “I’m not tired, I’m just getting started.” His style? Clean as always—Greyson continues to know what they’re doing. JT is a walking reminder that great golf and great style are not mutually exclusive.
😴 On the other side of the fairway we have poor Ludvig Aberg. Once a rising star of Tour fashion, he’s sunk into a monochrome malaise. Black and grey? Again? At Hilton Head in April? Adidas, what are we doing here? Someone grab this man a floral print and a stylist with a pulse. Even Norse Goddess raised an eyebrow—and she’s Swedish!
💪 And let’s not forget Billy Horschel, golf’s answer to Ralph Lauren’s fever dream. As usual, he looked crisply classic in a timeless polo. Horschel may not take big risks, but he doesn’t need to—his vibe is country club cool and always on brand.
But folks, can we talk? The overall PGA Tour aesthetic lately has been…well, a bit of a letdown. We just came from the PGA Show, where the apparel section looked like a carnival of creative prints—zebras, florals, neon paisleys—you name it. But out on the course? Stripes. Solids. Snooze. If we wanted to see khaki and navy every day, we’d go hang out at an insurance convention.
Spring is a time to bloom, and so far, most players are still dressing like it’s mid-February. Let’s step it up, gentlemen. Style doesn’t take a week off just because Augusta is in the rearview.
Until tomorrow, this is Yammy (with a rum punch in hand) and the Norse Goddess (draped in a pastel cashmere wrap, obviously), signing off from the low country. Stay stylish, stay spicy.
